Givi on a Futura!

by Mike Wolf

Well, the Givi rack and E52 top case is a success.  Here are some pics to give you an idea of how everything came together.  The rack setup is the F1000 universal setup, which comes with the two L brackets, a slew of mounting hardware, and the rack platform for any Givi case.  The only modification I had to make to the bike was a notch I needed to cut on each side of the plastic tail piece.  These notches are located where you can't even see them with the seat in place.  All mounting hardware is included in the Givi kit, except for the two L-brackets I fabricated for the front mounting points.  This wasn't difficult as I just took about four inches of 2" weldable steel stock, bent it 90 degrees, and drilled two holes on each end. Also, I have the Staintune mufflers installed, so I can't be sure if the setup will work on a bike with the stock muffler assembly mounted.

Feel free to email me with any questions.

You'll have to remove some material on the inside of the saddlebag brackets at the rear mounting point.  See photo for more detail. This is the other part of the install that will require you to use your trusty Dremel tool.  Two small notches (hidden) are required. View of the rear with the plastic tail section removed. Same picture, but from the right side.
Parts diagram, page 1. These are the exact parts I used for each mounting location.  The only difference is part #3 in the diagram is always mounted with the bolt hole on the top side. Parts diagram, page 2. Just the table of part ID numbers and descriptions.
